The Jennings J-22 began production in 1978 as a product of Jennings Firearms. Early models that also were marked Cal WestCo featured aluminum alloy frames and slides, but production later transitioned to Zamak (zinc-alloy) after Bryco Arms took over manufacturing. This particular example is in the condition one would expect from a pistol approaching 50 years old, showing marks, dings, scratches, finish wear, rust, and other typical signs of use and age. The pistol cocks and dry fires, though it has not been test fired due to the absence of access to a firing range. There appears to be a growing collectors’ interest in these firearms, and, to the best of current knowledge, all known manufacturers of the model are out of production.
