For sale is an SMLE No. 1 Mk III made in 1918 at the RFI (Rifle Factory Ishapore) in West Bengal, India. This was a British colony at the time. Rifle appears to be 95% original and matching (front barrel band, original site, receiver, bolt, stock). Original brass butt plate. Trigger has been converted to single stage at some point in its life. Small wood chip near the magazine well. Rifle functions very well. Bore and muzzle are in very good condition. Overall a great rifle. The British made WW1 era rifles are common but the Ishapore Indian rifles are fairly uncommon. Original .303 caliber. Not a 7.62 Nato conversion rifle. Comes with a WW2 era sling dated 1942. Sling is original, not a repro. $900 cash only, no trades. Not shipping. Face to face deal only. FOr-0ne-nine-5-1-6-77three5. Text preferred.
