For sale is an 1886 Portugese Kropatschek along with the correct bayonet, 8x60r reloading dies, and 120 rounds of surplus 8x56r Portugese ammo. 


The gun is not numbers matching, but it is in excellent condition. The action is smooth, the bore is good, the rifling is strong, the finish is about 85%, and the wood is very nice. Additionally, this is the earlier 1886 model which did not have the handuard, unlike the 1886/89 colonial model. 


The surplus ammo is corrosive and mostly dates to around WW1, but I've shot around 25 rounds and only had 1 or 2 duds, so you can expect 90% of it to work just fine. The Kropatschek was originally made to use 8x60r Portugese (a black powder round), but when smokeless powder was released in the same year, the Portugese created 8x56r Portugese for this rifle. 8x56r Portugese and 8x60r Portugese will both fire safely from this rifle, as they are nearly identical.


I have never used the reloading dies, but they seem to be complete and also quite rare.
