S&W 29-3 Project 999 Commemorative Firearm

In 1983 to 1984, 300 were made for the Orange County Sherrif's Office for the purpose of fund raising for the families of fallen officers. This one is #62 of 300

This firearm commemorates the first fallen office in the line of duty for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Undersheriff Robert Squires, who gave his life in service to the people of Orange County in a bloody shootout that took place in 1912. 

This is a nickle plated 44 magnum with wood case, commemorative sheriff's badge and numbered commemorative plate #062

A letter from the Orange County Sheriff's department to the original purchaser will be included. It looks to be in fantastic condition but since I've never removed it from the wood case, I can not say that it's never been fired. It doesn't look like it has been.
