The Beretta Model 20 in .25 ACP - A Study in Compact Engineering..... it represents a significant era in the history of compact firearms. Designed for those who appreciate the intersection of small-scale engineering and Italian manufacturing traditions, the Model 20 offers a unique look into the development of twentieth-century pocket pistols. This discontinued, highly concealable pocket pistol known for its innovative "tip-up" barrel design, features a Single-Action/Double-Action (SA/DA) trigger and a reliable manual thumb safety - Manufactured 1979
- Background: The Model 20 was the direct predecessor to the iconic Beretta 21A Bobcat. Originally a massive success in Europe, production was eventually brought to the United States (Accokeek, Maryland) in the early 1980s.
- Value & Availability: Because it is discontinued, it is considered a collectible and highly sought after by Beretta enthusiasts.
- Caliber: .25 ACP (6.35mm Browning)
- Action: SA/DA (Single Action / Double Action)
- Barrel Length: 2.5 inches
- Capacity: 8+1
- Safety: Manual thumb safety
- Tip-Up Barrel: This standout feature allows the barrel to hinge upward at the press of a button. This eliminates the need to rack the slide to chamber the first round.
- Ergonomics: Despite its tiny, snag-free profile, it features a slightly wider grip than later subcompacts, which provides a comfortable, secure hold for a pistol of its class.
- Reliability: Like most "mouse guns" of its era, it functions best with high-quality, standard-pressure ammunition and regular cleaning.
