For sale is Colt Single Action Army (SAA) ser# 8335SA. I am listing it as used because I cannot verify if it was ever fired outside of the factory. It is a very early 2nd Generation SAA and was made very early in 1956. It is in .45 LC (Long Colt) and has a 5 ½" barrel. The coloring is blue and casehardening. All numbers match where they should. The frame, grip strap, trigger guard, and grips have the 8335 ser# on them, as well as the original box. The loading gate and cylinder end have assembly numbers, as is correct. That is #296. I have added an original 1956 Colt catalog from when this was bought originally. It is included in the sale and is quite valuable on its own. This was purchased at Amoskeag Auction in March of 2023 for $4,235.00 with buyer's premium. It was just above the middle of their estimate. Feel free to email me and I will send you the auction link so you can see for yourself. Here was their description:

"serial #8335SA, 45 Colt, 5 1/2” barrel with a bright excellent, likely unfired, bore. The barrel and ejector rod housing retain 99% original blue, with the forcing cone showing bright metal, looking as though it were just cut. The cylinder, grip frame and guard are similar, the cylinder with the beginnings of a faint turn ring, a couple superficial scratches on the backstrap, and the slightest toning at bottom of front strap. The frame is lovely showing strong color casehardening with some tiny freckles of light surface oxidation on right flat, left recoil shield and toning on edge of loading gate. The bright polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant with some light freckles of oxidation which would likely polish out. The checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt grips are scratch numbered to the gun and rate excellent. The arm times and locks up properly and the assembly numbers on frame, cylinder and loading gate match. The frame, backstrap and trigger guard are all correctly numbered alike. The revolver rides in its original black box with instruction pamphlet, warranty card and small American Rifleman card. The box rates very fine to perhaps excellent with a couple flaked spots and some hammer rub wear on the interior; it is orange grease pencil numbered to the gun on its underside. An excellent post-war Single Action Army made the first year after production resumed, 1956. (3B10796-19) {C&R} (3000/5000)".

Colt stopped manufacturing the SAA in 1941 for the War effort. They did not resume until 1956. This would be the 8,335th revolver off the line, per serial numbers. Colt did not always ship in sequence. I have not factory lettered this. I will leave that to the next owner. This is an absolutely stunning piece that you don't see much of. Many of these early 2nd gen. "six-shooters" were turned into fast-draw guns as that was popular at that time. This is C&R eligible, where legal!
