For sale is a U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1896 Krag rifle in the original .30-40 Krag caliber. This rifle was built in the 1896 fiscal year (Krags were year recorded by fiscal year, not straight dates). This rifle is an antique, and does not require an FFL, WHERE LEGAL! It has obviously been sporterized to resemble a Philippine Insurrection Constabulary rifle. The front sight having been changed. The rear sight is the correct Model 1902 with the factory peep attachment. The stock only has the remnant of the inspector left. The handguard is missing. Not uncommon on Krags, as so many broke so easily. The bore and rifling have good shine to them, and very strong rifling. The barrel is 24" long. This will make a great shooter. Look at all the photos. They will answer most any question you have. I will require a copy of your ID proving that you are at least 18 years old, or 21, where needed. This can be shipped right to your door, again, WHERE LEGAL!
