Hard to find and still in service overseas, the model P-83 pistol in 9x19MAK made in the famous FB RADOM plant circle 11 in Poland. From the markings, we believe this is actually a military issued pistol, which was later imported into the United States.

The F.B. Radom P-83 Wanad is a Polish semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x18mm Makarov. It features a steel frame with a black finish and black plastic grips. The design uses a straight-blowback operating system and a double-action/single-action trigger mechanism. Standard magazine capacity is 8 rounds, with one additional round chambered for an 8+1 configuration. The P-83 was produced as a successor to the earlier P-64 model and served as a sidearm for Polish military and police forces beginning in the early 1980s. This same type of pistol was said to be used in both Yugoslav Wars and Iraq War.

This P-83 Wanad is used. The pistol’s construction is entirely steel, contributing to its robust design and characteristic weight balance for the 9x18mm cartridge. Controls include a manual safety and slide-mounted decocker, consistent with service models manufactured at the Lucznik factory in Radom, Poland. The black finish on both frame and slide could possilbly matche the standard military configuration, while the molded plastic grips provide a utilitarian appearance and function. The model designation and caliber markings are typically found on the slide, identifying it as a Polish-produced service pistol.

Included with the pistol is a single-stack magazine with an 8-round capacity. No additional accessories, tools, or packaging are specified. The P-83 represents a later stage of Polish sidearm development before transition to newer designs, maintaining the straightforward mechanical layout typical of Eastern European service pistols of its era.
