For sale is a Springfield Armory M1903A1 National Match-type built rifle. The receiver is from 1938-39. The bolt is Nickel-Steel. The receiver is a "high-number" so it, and the Nickel-Steel bolt from the 1930s, are both able to be used in CMP matches. It was rebarreled using an M1903A3 barrel (only difference is the size of the end of the barrel where the front sight goes on). It was head spaced and is perfect working order. The barrel is brand new. This is C&R eligible, where legal. Here are the specs:

Built in 1938-39

Barrel: New Criterion barrel that gauges 0 ME (Muzzle Erosion). Bore and rifling are new. Shiny and excellent. This is a 1903A3 barrel. The ONLY difference is the front, where the front sight goes. The 1903 is a little smaller diameter.

Correct rear sight.

Bolt: N.S. on top of bolt root. Used until late 1930s. It headspaces fine. The work was done by a very good gunsmith.

Type 2 safety. Non-serifed letters.

Cocking Piece: Correct

Cutoff: Non-serifed

Stock- Springfield Armory M1903A1 National Match. Springfield S in cutoff. D-1836-4 in front of rear sling swivel.

Buttplate: Smooth

Cleaning Kit: Original Nickel oiler with Brass throng and brush. Good "quiet button" on top.

Sling: I BELIEVE it is a repro. If so, a very good, strong one. Well built.
