Remington Rolling Block in 45–70 with Weaver Scope K2.5

It’s a Remington Rolling Block in 45-70. What year and what caliber originally is anybody’s guess.

When I got it, it had a very bad butt stock that was cracked and a badly mounted scope bracket.

I  fitted and installed a new walnut butt stock and buttplate. Plus I did a  nice refinish on the fore-stock to match. Sanded down to 440 and then steel wool; 0, 00, & 000. Tung oil coats in between and 2 after 000: 5 in total

I refitted the scope mount and installed a Weaver K2.5 scope on it. This is the only scope I had on hand that didn’t interfere with the rolling block action.

Very nice large caliber single shot.
