Japanese Type “I” (for Italian Mfg) in 6.5 Japanese. These rifles were ordered by the Japanese Navy and manufactured by Italy. They are based on the Carcano action but are beefier in receiver size and the bolt head is made for the rimmed 6.5 Japanese cartridge. Since it has a lifter and a mag well, no en bloc clips are needed. The barrel is longer than the Italian Carcano, for better accuracy. The stock is made just as all Japanese military rifles were made with the butt portion spliced from two pieces of wood.

Ammo is available.
