This firearm is a Colt Model 1911A1 chambered for 45ACP. This is a WW2 era gun with production being in 1943 judging by the serial number (SN: 11447XX). The firearm features a G.H.D. marking for Brig. Gen. Guy H. Drewry acceptance, a prominent P proof near the grips, a P proof in front of the trigger which was Colt's proof marking, G proof near the disconnector for government contract order prominence, the classic crossed cannons of the Ordnance Department for proof of inspection, "90" on the right side of the trigger guard, which is the number of the parts assembler at Colt, as well as the verified proof marking near the Colt proof. The frame has the marking "ANAD 5 75" most likely meaning it was re-arsenaled at Anniston Army Depot in May 1975. The barrel is an original WW2 era Colt barrel as evidenced by the markings present near the lug/link area and does have its proof P. The slide is a Remington Rand manufacture with a P proof on the top of the slide. 2-7rd magazines come with the firearm and it will ship in a MTM hard case for protection.
