Two small holes at the rear tang are standard factory tang-sight provisions used by Savage.


Two small, closely spaced holes on the forward receiver ring (approximately ½"–¾" apart) appear consistent with an older period sight/early mount footprint — not a modern Weaver/Redfield scope-base pattern.
