Eddystone 1917 (Sporterized) - Bolt-action - 6 rd magazine - 26" bbl - 30-06 Springfield - $299
Up for sale is a sporterized Eddystone 1917. When new, this rifle was formally adopted as the U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, Model of 1917. Made by the Eddystone division of Remington in 1917, this was converted to a hunting rifle sometime in the past with a new hardwood stock with a pistol grip, Monte Carlo comb, cheek rest, and a hard rubber buttplate. It also has 2 sling swivels. The wood is in very good condition, although it shows some minor scratches.
This Eddystone has Eddystone markings on the receiver. The front sight is the blade sight. The rear sight is a fixed aperture when down. When flipped up it becomes a ladder sight that uses a sliding aperture. Both sights have had the "ears" removed.
The rifle's receiver is marked as having been rebuilt at the Augusta Arsenal. The barrel is a Remington barrel, marked 11/1918 and has the correct flaming bomb marking. The bolt and trigger guard are Winchester.
There is no visible import mark. The rifle is in overall good to very good condition.
