Saginaw manufactured US GI M1 carbine in very good condition for its age and miltiary use. Serial number dates the rifle for 1943, that would place it when the US was involved with World War II . Overall the carbine shows some signs of use, but is soild, no rust or pits in the barrel. The stock may have been restored at some point, but the carbine as a whole is a real collectors piece. With new production M1 carbines out there with cast receivers, it might be a better plan to invest in a 82 year +/- real wartime collectable for nearly the same price.
