Custom (Arthur Dufour) Bowie Style Knife. Granted this is not for the masses or the novice collector. This is a n actual one of a kind from a renowned knife maker who was an artist in his trade. Although Art had created 100s of beautiful and quality knives over the years I cannot find any other example of him creating a Bowie style knife. I have spoke with both Donley Auctions and Northern knives who have both sold several Dufour knives and they are unaware of any other Bowie ever being produced bay Art as well. Either way it is a rare and beautiful custom piece that is very unique and difficult to value. I have had it evaluated by one auction house and 3 large knife dealers and I am told it should be valued between $500-$1200. To me it is better than any piece of artwork but unfortunately I could use the money right now more than the artwork. Although it honestly pains me to do so I am selling this and out of fairness I'm selling it for the low end of the estimate. I am rock solid firm on this price. I hope a true collector who will enjoy it can find this ad.
