Assessment
Remington’s Smoot series combined compact defensive design with Remington’s manufacturing quality. The No. 3 in .38 Rimfire offered notable power for a pocket revolver of the era and remains one of the more desirable Smoot variants. This example’s markings, barrel length, and nickel finish make it a strong representative for collectors of 19th-century American pocket revolvers.
