Colt Official Police revolver in good condition overall. Normal bluing loss from wear and tear and or holster use. Some surface rust on the back of the grip, likely from service use in a holster on patrol. These revolvers were in production from 1908 until 1969. This one is chambered in 38 special and many would say the standard round for law enforcement in that time period. The mid 1950's when the 44 magnum started production and the .357 magnum from the 1930s where likely one of the reasons the production of the Official Police ended in 1969. Law Enforcement looking for more powerful magnum revolvers for patrol. Lots of history with this revolver from one of the best names in the business, that holds it value second to almost none.
