The Ballester-Molina semi-automatic pistol listed here is basically a knock-off of a COLT 1911A1 with some slight differences. The Argentine Ballester-Molina .45acp caliber pistol was originally designed to offer Argentinian Federal Police, and other law enforcement agencies, a less expensive alternative to the Systema COLT 1911A1 and the Colt 1911A1 in production at that time. Production of the Ballester-Molina began in 1938 and ended in 1953 with approximately 113,000 pistols produced. Some components of both the Ballester-Molina and the COLT 1911/1911A1 are interchangeable such as the barrel, magazine, recoil spring. This pistol is in 86+% condition and functions just as well as any 1911 or 1911A1. As shown in the photos the pistol has fixed sights and comes with 3 7round magazines, a spare set of grip panels, and the paded, zippered rug.
