Mission: The core mission of SAVE22 is to provide support, assistance, volunteers, and education services to veterans and first responders who are at risk of suicide. They aim to make a difference in the lives of those who have served the country and community.

Focus and Programs: The organization is dedicated to providing support and connection to combat issues like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and social isolation. Their work is encapsulated in the acronyms:

  • S.A.V.E. Means:

    • Shield: Building strong support to protect against suicidal thoughts.

    • Assist: Working with others to give help where it's needed.

    • Volunteer: Creating outreach programs for those at risk.

    • Educate: Providing resources to local groups on how to prevent suicide.

  • H.O.P.E. Programs:

    • Hike: An annual hike (often held in Massillon at Duncan Plaza) to honor lost loved ones and raise awareness.

    • Outreach: Being available day or night for those facing PTSD, depression, or anxiety.

    • Programs: Small group support and personal attention.

    • Events: Connecting people through community activities like fishing, golf, and motorsports (diversion therapy programs).

Operations: SAVE22 is a volunteer-led organization that relies on donations, grants, and merchandise sales, with every dollar raised going directly to their programs to help veterans, active-duty members, and first responders. The organization was formed around 2016.
