COLT Model 1889 Navy  (SN 30926 - Manufactured in 1894)

This is a Colt Model 1889 New Navy Unconverted 38 Colt Double Action Revolver in good condition with a bright and defined bore.  This one (Serial # 30296) was manufactured in 1894 and is the rarer civilian version, Nickle plated with the 3" barrel.  The action functions properly and the nickle plated finish is original and is approximately 35-40% condition.  The revolver has some scattered paint spots and usage wear markings around the barrel and cylinder. The revolver includes a custom leather holster.   Introduced 1889, Colt’s breakthrough double-action revolver featured a swing-out cylinder (one of the first practical Colt designs to do so).  This one is chambered in .38 Long Colt. Adopted in Navy/contract versions and influential in the lead-up to later U.S. service revolvers, it set the basic pattern for modern swing-out revolvers used in the Spanish American era.
