This Winchester Model 94 commemorates the 21st state and the long term home state of our 16th president Abraham Lincoln. Born 1809 in a small town of Kentucky where education was scarce. Lincoln was mostly self taught besides learning to read. Much of his early life was spent working hard to help his struggling family, and was unable to get a formal education. Leaving Kentucky, to Indiana, then finally to Illinois did Lincoln find his home. Spending 31 years in the state where became a lawyer and US State Representative, and then leading to his eventual win in the 1860 election as the 16th United States President. Illinois honors Lincoln and his lead role in the abolishment of slavery, by the state's moniker the "Land of Lincoln" .
This Winchester Model 94 Illinois Sesquicentennial was manufactured in 1968. Featuring a 20" round barrel, full length magazine tube, side loading gate, simplistic Lincoln engraved receiver, hooded front sight and rear elevation sight, saddle loop, and has a smooth walnut stock and forearm.
