Colt Army Special 38 Cal Revolver with Leather Holster Ca. 1916. Bore is in good condition. 6" BBL. Functions fine with nice crisp action. Wood Grips are in good condition with a single letter carved in the bottom of the grip. Bright and rifled. It is stamped on the Barrel P.M.S.S. Co. It could possibly stand for Pacific Mail Steamship Navigation Company. Which was started in New York in 1847 by Louis Aspinwall. Overall this is a historic Colt revolver that does show signs of use and carry for the last 100 years. Marks, scratches, dings, dents, normal use. There is what looks to be wire brush marks on the finish, likely from cleaning decades ago. If only the pistol could talk, what a story it would have to tell.
