USED on CONSIGNMENT

This model 1898 Krag rifle had it's stock and barrel cut short for "sporterization"

Barrel is now 24 inches with blade front sight moved back to new length

This serial number range Krag was not even close to the short barrel "carbine" models so could not have been an "1898 Carbine"

Side opening 5 round internal box magazine

Metal finish worn but shows little sign of corrosion

Wood is in very good condition overall for this age, with the exception of one crack from the receiver to the trigger guard on the left side (See pictures)

Rifling and bore look to be in surprisingly good condition
