This original 20 Ga “Ketland” Fowler has a browned 44-3/8” tapered octagon to single wedding band to tapered round 1-1/8” to ¾” smoothbore cylinder bore barrel. A rear sighting witness groove has been cut in the tang and breech of the barrel and the front sight is a low, thin brass blade. The bore shows moderate to heavy frosting throughout and without pitting. Stamped on the top flat is London with English proof marks on the left flat. The P grade Walnut stock is mounted with tastefully engraved brass furniture, including a thumb piece with heavy patina finish. An engraved flint lock with Ketland & Co stamped on the plate is activated by a single trigger. The original tapered wood ramrod has a patch worm attached. Please Note: The full stock is in good condition with the exception of an unrepaired crack through the lock bolt and a 3-3/4” crack along the left hand side of the barrel channel starting 12” from the muzzle and running back toward the breech. A large chip of wood is missing on the right side of the barrel channel 8” from the muzzle. It appears that the nose cap has been removed and the nose of the stock was re-shaped at some point. Length of pull is 14”. Overall Length is 59”. Weight is 6.6 lbs. Good wood to metal fit – made by Ketland & Co. Condition: Good.
