Precision Jig Installation:

✅ Install the Jig Plates

  • Affix both the left and right jig plates securely to the frame.

✅ Prepare the Left Jig Plate

  • Insert four (4) nuts into the designated recesses on the left jig plate.

✅ Prepare the Right Jig Plate

  • Thread four (4) screws into the right jig plate.
  • Note: The screws will not fall freely; the holes are undersized to ensure precise alignment.
  • Hold both plates firmly together while threading.
  • Do not fully tighten at this stage.

✅ Tighten the Assembly

  • Once the screws are threaded into the nuts, gradually tighten all screws, rotating each one full turn at a time.
  • Continue in an X pattern until the plates are firmly pressed together.
  • Caution: Avoid overtightening.

✅ Secure the Frame

  • Clamp the frame and jig securely to the drill press or workstation.
  • Ensure the assembly is fully stabilized.

✅ Prepare the Drill Bit

  • Insert the drill bit into the guide; a tight fit is normal.
  • Adjust the bit until approximately 1/8 inch extends below the guide.

✅ Verify Alignment

  • Confirm that the drill guide sits flat against the jig before drilling.
  • Use the appropriate Guide for each hole. Guide 3 should be used for the holes marked "3" etc.
  • Drill carefully, completing one side at a time. Do not drill straight through.

✅ Drilling Best Practices

  • Drill Press: Ensure the table is perfectly level.
  • Hand Drill: Keep the drill perfectly vertical.
  • Tip: Enlist an assistant to help verify left-to-right and front-to-back alignment.

✅ Guide Rod Channel

  • Insert the jig into the channel.
  • Tape the jig securely in place.
  • Insert a 7/16" drill bit. A tight fit is normal.
