These revolvers were manufactured somewhere between 1961 until 1978, five shot, chamber of .38S&W. Some what unusual caliber, as many pistols that late in the century where manufactured in 38 special. This later model the 55-SA was unique do to its loading gate, sort of like a Colt single action. Iver Johnson made quality firearms, this one is made of machined steel, brass, etc not cast zinc like some of the bargain brand imports around the time period. Over all the revolver dry fires fine, however something has gotten on the finish, which has turn it almost to like a brass/gold look in areas. Low price for a quality non zinc cast pistol.
