This firearm is a Enfield Ishapore model 2A rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO. The rifle features all the parts composing a SMLE Enfield rifle with the Ishapore changes to fit the 7.62 NATO cartridge effectively, including a 12rd capacity flat bottomed magazine and a different extractor than the .303 Brit chambered rifles. The gun features matching serial numbers on the receiver, magazine, nose cap, rear sight base, and bolt handle. The thick black paint is still present on most metal, which was used as a pretectant by the Ishapore factory for rifles at the time. The wood is in good overall condition with minor bumps/scuffs expected of a piece of this age.
