For sale or trade is a 1943 Turkish Model 1938 Mauser chambered in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57). This rifle was produced at the Kırıkkale Arsenal and is marked “K.Kale” and “ASFA ANKARA 1943.” It’s built on the proven large-ring Mauser 98 action — one of the most rugged and reliable bolt-action platforms ever made.

 

This particular example is in excellent shape for a surplus rifle. The wood is clean and solid with just the right amount of handling wear to give it character and patina — not beat up or cracked like many of these you’ll find. It has that classic look without feeling like it was dragged behind a tank. The action cycles smooth, safety works as it should, and the bore has strong rifling and good shine.

 

Import marked by Century Arms as “M1938 German 8MM,” but this is a true Turkish Mauser built from a mix of reworked German, Czech, and Turkish components. It’s a great shooter and a fine example of mid-20th-century military craftsmanship.
