This firearm is a Colt Defense manufactured M4 Carbine chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. This rifle was manufactured back when Colt was truly Colt, under the Colt Defense name. The company name and the serial number: LE173276, lead to a manufacture date of 2013 per Colt's own serial number search and the markings on the gun. The handguard has been replaced with a magpul unit and the stock is a Colt marked Rogers Super Stock, which were standard equipment on some rifles leaving the factory. The upper receiver has the "C" stamping as well as the bolt carrier. The barrel is marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" and is a full 16" barrel per the LE6920 model specifications. Colt lost their sole supplier contract for M4 Carbines in 2013 to FN and later in the same year of manufacture (2013) Colt Defense bought Colts Manufacturing Co. which all later made rifles would be marked as such. These factors point to this gun not only coming off the same assembly lines designed for MIL/LE customers, but also proof marked as such (per US GOVT requirements).
