I have fired many other .357 magnum revolvers and have found that the birdshead grip greatly reduces felt recoil from full house .357 magnum ammo because the round butt rotates in the palm of your hand rather than slamming straight back into it, as with a conventional grip.  Also this Henry revolver has a very handy and unique feature. To make cleaning much easier you can just open the cylinder and push a small button near the front of the handguard and you can pull the entire cylinder and yoke assembly out the left side.
