Own a piece of history! Up for sale is my father's browning BDM. BDM stands for browning dual mode. These were made in the late 80s/early 90s to wean the officers from their double action pistols, to the single action firearms we see today. With the simple turn off a cylinder, you can carry double action with safety as you would with any 1911 style, or you could switch to single action, like our modern pistols have. No need to take down the firearm to do this. It also has a decocker function when you place the lever into safe.
It includes two magazines, one of which is a 10 round, the other a 15 round. The design of the cylinder was made so that the base of the magazine could turn it. Unfortunately the plastic is terribly soft. I usually keep it in pistol mode, but a large flat blade driver would turn it into revolver mode easily. The new magazine is 10 rounds and has a fully intact tab as it's brand new. We the people holster from my 1911 fits perfectly on this weapon. Yes, including snap in retention, adjustable.
Thank you for looking.
