Advertised at my lowest price if I need to ship it. For local sale I will reduce by 10 dollars. 28" barrel, uncommon modified choke, most were full. Serial # C83336, early production, manufactured in 1899. Wood and finish appear original, you be the judge. Some handling marks and scratches in rear stock, but remarkably there are no cracks in the grip area like most old 97's have. The only crack in the rear stock I found is a dry-crack back at the buttplate. There is a tiny chip of wood missing at the toe of the buttplate, and a couple very small ones in the top of the comb. There is a neat "00 CP" stamp in the stock which indicates a possible law enforcement history? Appears to have original buttplate. Foregrip wood is in remarkable condition for the age. It is light in handling marks. The left side has a short, incredibly tight hard-to-see crack at the front. The right side has a thin crack at the retaining screw, and a short, incredibly tight hard-to-see crack at the front. The bluing has some wear due to age but there is still alot there, and I think could be original, again, you be the judge. Receiver frame has some small scratches, small scuffs, and small age spots. There is a small area of lighter-than-pinprick surface pitting on the left side of the frame. Barrel has no dents, markings are well-defined. bore is shiny with some small patches of pitting. Action works smooth and confident. I can provide several high-res photos and a short video clip of it in operation to a SERIOUS buyer. I am not a dealer, I am a private individual selling this firearm from my personal collection. Cash only for local sale. For local sale I will only sell to anyone who is verified to purchase a firearm so I would need to see either a FFL, or Neb. Firearm Purchase Certificate, or Concealed Carry Permit, and photo ID. Just like it's done at our local auctions. I will ship, but only to an FFL. If you do not have your own FFL, you must ensure that your FFL provider is accepting firearms for transfer from private individuals that don't have an FFL, like me. I will also need contact info for your receiving FFL so that I can arrange shipping with them. If shipping, payment for firearm and shipping combined is by Bank Cashier's check only. Shipping is to only the lower 48 and is a flat fee of 70 dollars. Firearm will be competently packaged, priority, with insurance and tracking.     As a sidenote, I am gradually selling off my firearm collection. If you are looking for something, let me know, I might have it.
