Our Assessment: This is a French Flobert style single-shot parlor / saalon pistol chambered for 6mm precussion cap rimfire carterages The pistol is based on a design by the French firearms designer Louis-Nicolas Flobert. His iconic rifles & pistols were typically designed as “parlor or salon guns” which were meant to be used for indoor target shooting. It did not take long for European companies to begin producing versions of the design for export. In France they included F.P. Caron ARQ & Francaise d'Armses et de Cycles de Saint Etienne. Despite its age, around 1854 the pistol remains mechanically sound and it retains much of its aesthetic charm. This is an interesting old European manufactured pistol that you do not want to miss out on!
