Powder Horn – Vintage - Large – Tan to Black – Scrimshawed J.E.G – P-34-55

This vintage Primitive style tan to black 16” one of a kind custom scrimshawed J.E.G horn is beautifully hand made with scrimshaw work throughout the horn. The scene depicts a cabin homestead with J.E.G under a wheat field with a scrimshawed rope wrapping around the horn from tip to base. Scrimshawed near the horn tip is an Eagles head and crossed rifles and a Rose Compass at the butt. A tab of the horn sits above the rear plug that acts as a guide for the leather strap. The primitive style Walnut base plug fits nicely into the horn and has a 48” long x 1/4” wide leather carrying strap. This horn is in very good condition with the exception of some handling marks.
