Lancaster – 45cal – Percussion – Unknown – Stk# P-31-27

This original .45 caliber Lancaster rifle has a 1-1/16" to 7/8 x 37-1/2" browned tapered octagon to round twist steel barrel with a 1:66 twist and fitted with fixed sights. The bore is in good condition with the exception of Frosting throughout. It does have clean sharp rifling. The P+++ grade Birds Eye Maple stock is in good condition with the exception of the extensive repair on the right hand side. The repairs are around the lock plate and along the forend. The checkering on the wrist and forend is heavily worn. The stock is mounted with all brass furniture and a horn nose cap, including the pierced patch box and embellished with multiple tasteful inlays. The engraved converted percussion lock is activated by double set triggers. Length of pull is 15-1/4", overall length is 60-1/2”, weight is 7.0 lbs. Good wood to metal fit - Maker Unknown. Condition: Good to Very Good.

Please Note: This stock has been repair extensively on the right hand side. The repairs are around the lock plate and along the forend. The barrel also shows signs of minor delamination in the twist steel barrel.
