H&R 1871 Buffalo classic 45/90. Originally sold as 45/70 govt, owner had altered to take 45/90. Gunsmith that did the work (Moyer's) stamped over the 7 to indicate 45/90. I do not know if it has been drilled and tapped or it came that way from factory for an optic. My understanding from my gunsmith is that you can still shoot 45/70 out of it. The owner has quite a bit of reloaded 45/90 and a die set that he will sell separately. I can put you in touch with him if your interested. Bore is shiny and clear and is being stored here in a gun sock (included). No dings dents or scratches that I can see. No rust or pitting observed either
