These new rifles feature a freshly designed stock which takes some cues from the Mark V Backcountry 2.0 stock. Constructed from polymer, the Hunter's stock has the same trim, a flat-bottomed forend, ambidextrous palm swells, and aluminum pillar construction. The legendary Mark V action returns with its signature multi-lug bolt system which uses 9 locking lugs to allow this rifle to fire ultra-powerful magnum rounds with zero safety concerns. When a round is chambered, three rings of steel around the base of the cartridge also work to contain the power of magnum cartridges. Three gas relief ports housed in the bolt body work to vent off pressure, adding yet another strength attribute to the Mark V Hunter. With barrels threaded 1/2x28, you have the freedom to attach your preferred muzzle brake or suppressor. A 54 degree bolt throw allows for the user to cycle the action faster when compared to the 90 degree bolt throw that is normally seen in bolt action rifles. To reduce weight, Weatherby trimmed material by adding deep fluting to the Mark V Hunter's bolt. This fluting also reduces the bearing surface in the action which results in smoother operation while cycling.
