The Soviet Union began production of the AK47 in late 1948 at Izhevsk Machine Plant. Also known as Izhmash. It came with a 30-round magazine. This magazine is now called the "Russian Slab Side" because it has smooth stamped sides. Only the Izhmash factory produced them. These magazines are very rare, as they were replaced by AK production at another factory. These Original Russian Military Surplus magazines may have some wear, scratches, etc. from storage and shipping during their lifetime. There is no other Russian AK 47 magazine quite like this!
