Original Colt 1849 Pocket .31 caliber percussion revolver with all matching numbers (frame, barrel, trigger guard, grip frame, cylinder).  The serial number indicates 1855 as year of manufacture (according to Colt’s website serial number search).  This is a Colt, not an Italain reproduction.

Frame, cylinder and barrel finishes are clean bare metal, with some blurring of the markings (indicating past polishing of the metal).  Cylinder has strong “Colt’s Patent” and serial number markings and stagecoach scene mostly visible.  Brass grip frame has a few of the usual nail hammering marks around the bottom screw.  Both wood grip panels are sound with most of their finish remaining, with finish worn off the bottom edge of the left panel and a chip broken off the right side panel near the grip frame hammering marks.

Action advances and locks the cylinder consistently, holds half-cock and full cock strongly, and has a clean trigger pull.  Bore has strong rifling with some roughness from black powder use.  Nipples are in good condition with clear flash holes.  Loading lever mechanism and latch are in good functional condition.

As a pre-1898 cap and ball antique, this Colt can be shipped directly to your door without going through an FFL, in states that allow it.  New Jersey, New York, California and DC require an FFL.  I require proof of age and address to verify eligibility to ship.  Contact me for more photos (Armslist limits me to 3).
