We at Armslist are a small group of men and women that hold high the U.S. Constitution, and battle daily with God's strength to protect your inalienable right to keep and bear Arms. Your support, through your active subscription, helps fuel our tireless endeavor to keep Armslist up and running as a bastion of the Second Amendment, facing frivolous lawsuits filed against us by the likes of unhinged leftist organizations like the Brady Campaign, and more.
-The Armslist Team
Listed is a pre-owned Springfield Model 1898 Rifle chambered in 30-40 Krag. This rifle is in very good condition overall for its age. The stock is original, with the proof marks still showing on the underside of the stock behind the trigger guard. The stock has scattered marks, scratches, and dings consistant with use and the age of the gun, with most of those being on the butt stock and toe. There is a pair of cracks on the top of the forearm behind the rear sight, with both measuring roughly 3 inches long. The steel and finish is also original, with discoloration and finish loss. There is a small, roughly dime sized spot of very light rust and pitting right behind the front barrel band. The rear barrel band has a “U” stamped on the right hand side. The action is smooth, and the side loading magazine spring is tight. The bore is bright, with frosting in the lands, but still has well defined rifling. This rifle does not come with a box, paperwork, or any accessories.
