Up for sale or trade is a "cased" London Colt 1851 Navy .36 Caliber. Manufactured in 1852.
All matching serial numbers (17017) - stamped on the loading lever, barrel lug, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. 


Excellent blueing on the 7 1/2" octagon barrel (easily 80%+ I think). I am unsure as to if the barrel has been reblued since the original manufacture, but I suspect that it has.
Silver-plated brass back-strap and trigger guard.
British proof stamps on the breech end of the cylinder over each chamber as well as on the left side of the barrel lug with a Crown over V and Crown over GP.
All six "nipples" AKA safety pins fully intact. Case-colored/hardened frame, hammer, and loading level with a nice gray patina. 


Grips are one piece varnished walnut. Looks like there may have been a small repair on each side of the one-piece varnished walnut grips.
Just like most or all of the other 42,910 London Colt 1851s that were manufactured (1851-1855 if I remember correctly), the cylinder features the Waterman Lily Ormsby "ENGAGED 16 MAY 1843" Naval battle scene.
"Colt's Patent" on the left side. Standard address on barrel, "ADDRESS COL: COLT. LONDON" with spear finials facing inward at either end.
Original blue velour-lined English oak case. Interior of lid with Colt loading and cleaning directions label. Accessories include SYKES PATENT flask, Colt's Patent dual cavity bullet mold, opened tin of 250 percussion caps with green paper label, original cleaning rod, L-shaped combination tool, an assortment of lead balls and conical bullets, and the key.
I haven't put too much work into looking at the case's locking mechanism, but the keys doesn't appear to lock the case properly. 


This "Navy" is mechanically excellent. Original brass cone front sight. 


Philip Boulton of Southampton, England has collated and recorded a survival rate of at least 4.33% of the original 42,910. Out of those, only a small portion are cased with the original accessories. 


Price drop down to $7,000 (from $7,900). If interested, I can send more pictures. I will also consider trade for other guns, old American coins, rare bayonets, high-end knives, silver, gold, and .45acp/9mm/5.56/.223 ammo.
