WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 .44 WCF CARBINE | 1893 Winchester model 1873 .44 WCF lever-action carbine. Factory converted from .38 caliber rifle, to .44 caliber carbine. Varnished walnut stock, and light gray polished steel patina on metal surfaces. Dust cover. 20" octagonal barrel, with full length tubular magazine. Barrel shank stamped: "44 WCF". Barrel address reads: "Winchester Repeating Arms New Haven Conn USA - King's Improvement Patented March 29 1866. October 16 1860-." Upper tang marked: "Model 1873." Lot includes original Cody Firearms Museum Letter of Authentication, dated January 3, 2001, from Waddy Colvert (Research Specialist), to Mr. Dennis Mulvey, detailing rifle specs, shipping information and factory modifications made to rifle. | Caliber / Gauge: .44 WCF | Barrel Length: 20" | Serial Number: 460642B | Condition: Very good. Very good bore, with very good rifling . Stock shows some handling wear and light indentations, and has been refinished. Small 1" crack in stock, radiating from left and right rear of receiver. Metal surfaces show cleaning and polishing. Mechanically excellent. Own a piece of Winchester American history in excellent shooting condition. Antique firearm, no FFL needed and can be shipped direct for $40.
