This .44-40 Colt Model 1878 Revolver was made in 1892 and has a 5” tapered round barrel with a fixed blade front sight and a notch in the frame for the rear sight. The bore is good. There is still some bluing intact on the frame, cylinder and ejector rod housing. The left side of the barrel reads, “Colt Frontier Six Shooter”.  Top of the barrel reads, “Colt’s PT. F.A. Mfg Co. Hartford CT U.S.A. The Colt checkered synthetic grips have lost their sharpness in the checkering and the right grip has a chip. This revolver features a lanyard swivel on the frame. Please Note: The cylinder does not free spin in the half cock position and the ejector rod spring is weak. Therefore, we are selling this revolver AS-IS. The weight is 2 lbs. 7 oz.
