Colt HBAR Elite 223 CAR-A3 gun safe queen. Introduced in 1996 this was intended to be Colt’s long-range premier AR15 target/varmint rifle, as it was fitted with an extra-long (24 inch) heavy HBAR- type stainless steel match barrel.  It is marked on top of the barrel, “MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR ELITE” with a flat top upper receiver (without the carrying handle and rear sight). The receiver has the standard Colt factory markings on the left side of the magazine well and it fitted with a match grade trigger group.
