This is a never fired Pietta 1858 Remington Steel Frame revolver in 44 caliber with a 5-1/2 inch barrel and a new Triple K Brand brown leather holster left. It is a historical black powder reproduction. It is a fully functioning black powder revolver that fires a 44 caliber lead ball. No pistol permit required. No box. Stock photos.

This pistol does not require a permit or FFL. It can be shipped directly to your address. Because it features a steel frame, it can be converted to a centerfire revolver to shoot 45 Long Colt. Conversion cylinders are available, without an FFL, from the manufacturer and from online retailers who specialize in black powder guns such as EMF, Heritage Arms, and Taylors, but we DO NOT carry them. The original Remington-Beals Model Revolvers along with subsequent models and variations were percussion revolvers manufactured by Eliphalet Remington & Sons, used during the American Civil War, and were the beginning of a successful line of medium and large frame pistols.

The Remington revolver was a secondary, supplemental issue firearm for the Union Army until the Colt factory fire of 1864.  It saw use in the American West, both in its original percussion configuration and as a metallic cartridge conversion, as well as around the world.
