Remington 700 5-R Gen 2 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle With 24" Fluted & Threaded Barrel and HS Precision Stock 85198. This is the best value in the Long Range line from Remington. Save up to $500 over comparably equipped rifles. The Remington 700 Stainless 5-R Gen2 sets the benchmark for accuracy and durability in a bolt action rifle. Much like M-24, the barrel is cold hammer forged and features 5-R rifling. The 5rd rifling profile increases barrel life expectancy, accuracy and creates less fouling and bullet deformation over time; the results are less friction, better accuracy, longer life and it is easier to clean. The Remington 85198 features a stainless steel action and barrel with a black cerakote finish, H.S. Precision composite sand/black stock, dual front swivel stud system, and a X-Mark Pro adjustable trigger. This Remington 700 5R Gen 2 rife features a 5R 24" fluted, threaded barrel and is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor.

There are 5 lands as opposed to the normal 6 land configuration. Traditional lands are squared off at a 90 degree angle to the groove while the lands on 5-R rifling are tapered at 110 degrees which results in less bullet deformation. Also, none of the lands are directly across from one another. Both of these features lead to better accuracy and less fouling.
