This is a 1956 Winchester Model 70 chambered for .270 Winchester. The 22” blued barrel is in great condition with no scratches or corrosion. The front sight is a hooded fixed bead set in a ramped dovetail and the rear sight is a folding leaf sight. The barrel is engraved with a leaf pattern for the first 10”. Bore is in excellent condition with clean sharp rifling. The blued receiver is also in great condition having a tiny scratch and no corrosion. There is some very light finish wear on the bolt knob but the bolt is otherwise undamaged. Mounted to the receiver is a Kowa 4-9x40 scope with a tapered post reticle. The tube is in good shape but there is some dust inside the scope. The blued trigger guard and base plate are also in good condition and engraved with a leaf pattern and a stag. The walnut stock with pistol grip is in good condition. There are scattered light scratches and dents, but few disrupt the somewhat glossy finish. This stock has a plastic grip cap, ebony forend cap and diamond shaped inlays that appear to be ivory. Rifle has a raised comb, checkering at the wrist and forend, and aluminum buttplate.
