This original - 50-70 Trapdoor - Springfield rifle has a round tapered 1" to 3/4" x 32-1/2" barrel fitted with an adjustable ladder rear sight and a blade front sight with a missing blade. The bore has scattered pits about 3" from the muzzle. The P grade Walnut stock is mounted with iron furniture, including sling swivels. Forend and butt stock have some dings, nothing too major. The inspectors cartouche is seen on the left side of the stock just below the rear lock screw. The trapdoor breech block is dated US 1869. Stamped on the lock plate is US Springfield and 1863 and the spread eagle. Length of pull is 13-1/2". Ramrod is not original. Good wood to metal fit - made by Springfield Armory. Condition: Good.
