World War II 1942 Springfield M1 Garand .30-06SPRG From CMP

**Beautiful** M1 Garand from October 1942 W/ S-A-12-47 Barrel - CMP Service Grade!

This M1 rifle is classified as a CMP "Service Grade", which means the rifle is combat ready, good barrel readings and has all real authentic GI parts. CMP was not required by the US government to import mark U.S owned M1 Garands on the lend / lease programs to other countries. Service Grade M1's have "NO" aftermarket or foreign replacement parts, and "Certified & Test Fired" for use directly from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (Full CMP "Service Grade" Definition Below).

Rifle Details & Parts List : Almost "All" Springfield WWII Parts!

A nice looking early1942 Springfield receiver with a nice finish, the rifle was retro fitted by a US arsenal with a Springfield 1947 replacement barrel sometime after WWII. Almost every produced M1 during WW2 was sent to arsenals for refurbishment and kept stored until the Korean War conflict. The barrel has a nice bright bore with gauge readings at (2+) for the muzzle erosion (ME) and (2+) for the throat erosion (TE). These are good readings and well within the military service specifications (Reference the hanging Blue Armor tag). The M1 has a "NEW" very nice looking walnut stock with the CMP stamp on the left side of the stock.

CMP "SERVICE GRADE": DEFINITION

(GOOD TO VERY GOOD)
Service Grade Rifles show less wear and better appearance than Field or Rack Grades. Good to very good condition. Rifle wear will be exhibited by worn and mixed colors of the parkerized finish. May have pitting on the metal parts. Wood will be either Walnut, Birch, Beech or other variety and will be basically sound but may have minor hairline cracks, dings, scratches and gouges. Wood may not match in color or type of wood. Wood may be of new production but may be used and show signs of wear on Service Grade Garands. Bores will be generally good with only minor imperfections. The barrel crown may be nicked, but the muzzle will gauge “3 or less” and the throat erosion will gauge less than 5.
